Deep House Vocals. Have a few of my favorites on here-Bent, DJ MFR, Christian Hornbostel and Marco Soundee featuring one of my favorite vocalists, Maggie Smile. Hope you enjoy it! Cheers smile
Like what I've hear so far. Owing to Mix.dj's decision to prevent me from skipping forward in the streaming player (I'd listened to part and had to stop), I will reserve comments until I hear the whole set.
Mate, you're spot on with the mood of this mix! I very much enjoyed the intro! You have masterfully executed the tempo change at around 4 minutes, that is genious! Just as it should be, the right pace, way to go man! (And you know that I'm not shy to criticize smile khmm... provide constructive feed...
Mate, you're spot on with the mood of this mix! I very much enjoyed the intro! You have masterfully executed the tempo change at around 4 minutes, that is genious! Just as it should be, the right pace, way to go man! (And you know that I'm not shy to criticize smile khmm... provide constructive feedback smile Track 3 was a bit too trancey for me, but Istill enjoyed, you create a nice ambient atmosphere with it that goes through Track 4 which is more housey again. Earnshaw is just brilliant! How jazzy and laidback! This must be new, I'm running to Beatport to buy it! I saw this immediately in the tracklist (together with Fred Everything, two of the big names with a guarantee for quality funky house) Just like Guido P said, great control over tempo and changing BPM here again - between 5 and 6, ah he did not call it out, it's on at 26.15 again. Track 6 sounds very Earnshawish to me, nice fit - honestly, same mood and the whole arrangement is really Richard Earnshaw - will have to check out more of this Christian Hornboster. The vocals are very pleasant, reminds me of old classic underground house from early 90s, late 80s. The speed up here between 6 and 7 is not that good IMHO, I would have waited for the vocals to stop and speed only while the loop is running. With these many speed-ups I'm wondering how fast you'll go by the end! smile This certainly works on the dancefloor though - the mood change and "drying out" at 32:30 is a nice counterbalance to the speed-up. Great 80s reminiscence again, Yazoo and similar stuff, even Sylvester... great pop-house sound. Actually, I was just gonna say D-Mob, and now Ihave to say it, the acid bass coming in at around 25 is very early Detroit-Chicago smiley acid house with the 808 style snares - back in '86 again! Track8 is similar, love the bassline! Again, bit of a synth-pop style but it's more deep house, what a great track! Vocoder is brilliant - this is Lovebird sound very much, Iwould have bet he was the author of this one... Track 9 is very soulful, as if it jumped off of Guido P's or Steve K's set - again, you mix moods here but you don't go too far from the chosen track so it's a refreshing nice fit. Great diversity of different arrangements to create the same mood. Maggie Smile is awesome! Her voice reminds me of the singer for Koop... A mellow, jazzy voice, very nice. Fred Everything does not disappoint at the end. Which makes it a spotless, flawless set all together, no mistakes here! Your mixing is very fluid all the way through, got the flow all the time. Man, this is a surprising unique sound (for me at least) - it is a masterpiece! It goes on my phone, will listen more before going to sleep! I definitely need to do some shopping for this sound on Beatport, it's been a while I did digging there. Well, Xmas is coming, I'll surprise myself!
Well done, this is pure brilliance, thanks for sharing!
