Ah, man, you're killing me right at the intro! How good is this, my very fav track from Glücklich IV! Bit of a double drumming at the transition between 1 and 2, it's different grooves, hard to match. This Rae & Christian is brilliant! Ah, man, you're killing me right at the intro! How good is this, my very fav track from Glücklich IV! Bit of a double drumming at the transition between 1 and 2, it's different grooves, hard to match. This Rae & Christian is brilliant! I love them, but they only have a very few tracks of this quality, it can be hit and miss with their albums.
Air and Dining Rooms, usual suspects for a lounge mix but then you have this nice RnB track at 5, wow, like it when someone mixes genres in a lounge set! Great fit and an awesome track! Even more with Landslide, something in this sound tells me that you like hip-hop - well, and there you go with Mr Scruff. Great jazz sound at Track 10 and 11 - then it's really turning into a Solid Steel show (if you know Ninja Tune you probably know what Solid Steel is) with the switch to J Boogie - now this is real lounge, confidently mixing tracks from different genres and times as they fit. A true sign of a great and broad musical taste.
Well, J Boogie, huh? Mark Farina's fav band, regulars on Mushroom Jazz, bet you had some influence from there. Track 13 is even funkier, tighter, great groove, this is kick-ass! Ahh!
And then there comes the execution. No, I did not see it coming, wow, Erykah Badu! I give 100 points to anyone using Badu tracks, and Apple Tree is one of my favs (do you have the remixes? Have a listen to my "Trust The Vibe - Volume 4 mix here"
Jazzanova, Clara Hill, again, mainstream lounge, good one of course. And then - BANG! Straight in the face, a BOMB! You just drop it there to underpin that you're not just the average recent times lounge fan, you got deep roots. Loose Ends my friend, how cool it is! I did not know this one, of course I only know "Hanging On a String" - I looked this up, it's from 1990. Like I said, effortlessly spanning genres and time - best ever lounge skills here.
Is this the vynil popping at the last track or is that an effect? Nice ending jingle.
Awesome work, just what I like. You're a true master and your knowledge and love for music just shines through. Keep this coming! Can't believe I missed it so far...
