Gasoline Heart still enjoys tremendous popularity in Denmark, which was highlighted when the band in 2003 released the Black Box - a collection of the original Danish publications (GAS 1-7 + Live To). The box set was 109 weeks on the recording industry's top-40 list of best-selling albums in Denmark.
Box set with the nine Gasoline Heart plates are currently. (September 2014) sold 130,000 copies, which is 1,170,000 sheets. Their production counts rock classics as "It was Inga, Katinka and Beautiful Charlie on his Harley," "My Girl", "Siren Song", "Rabalderstræde", "Lots of Success," "This Is My Life" and "Strings Legen" .
Musically leaned Gasolin up the contemporary international rock sound, while their lyrics were distinctive Danish. The texts were often humorous and satirical, and could hardly remind revue shows - added melodic and distinctive rock music. As revue texts could band's numbers be political and social criticism, but they were always delivered with a special humor. The revue-like style may include attributed to Gasolin 'was assisted by Mogens Mogensen to some of their texts.
Gasoline's Danish success peaked in 1976, where they performed for a packed Sports Park as the opening band for a concert with Bonnie Raitt. Gasoline 'could hardly be greater, and therefore addressed a look at America in the spring of 1977. But the US Department of CBS was not interested in launching the Danish band in the United States, and plans never materialized.
Throughout the band's nine-year history was Gasolin marked by conflicts between the band members. Throughout this period, the four members almost constantly together, and the waves were sometimes loud. It was in particular the relationship between guitarist Franz Beckerlee and singer Kim Larsen, who struck sparks. The conflict between the two was the main reason Gasolins resolution, but it was also the one who gave the group its dynamic and distinctive. The two were almost opposites, and it was the combination of the two different personalities that made Gasolin 'to something special. In an interview about his documentary Gasolin, which is about the band, expressing Anders Østergaard difference as follows: "Franz comes from the jazz scene and go into rock music inspired by the long psychedelic guitar solos - Kim Larsen will sing songs from a ballad tradition. We therefore have Jimi Hendrix counter Osvald Helmuth ".
On 21 August 1978 played Gasolin 'for the last time as they gave a concert in the People's Park in Malmö.
