Recently I spend a couple of rainy nights 'crate digging' at Soundcloud and this is a selection of all the great music I found!
Starting with the beautifully dreamy yet a bit haunting sound of Lukas Grinys' “Color For You” followed by a fresh remake of an early 90s Eye-Q classic: Arif Ressmann's take on Zyon's “No Fate” takes you back to those days. We go even further back in time with JPL remixing the classic Fleetwood Mac song called “Little Lies” And fast forward to todays dance music again with a fat club mashup by Jack Eye Jones of Nalin & Kane's “Beachball” and Lana Del Rey's “Summertime Madness”!

I did come across some good quality trance music as well. Be sure to have a listen to The Black Parrot, a young producer from the US. I have included the blissful “Divergence” in this episode of Selected Next up is a free download by Gareth Emery – and it's a great one! “Isolate” has got one of the sweetest melodies I've heard in quite some time – well worth to grab a copy! From one of the sweetest melodies to one of the most massive ones: Ben Gold's “Departure” is THE best energetic melodic trance track I've heard all year. Another free download, so be sure to visit his Soundcloud page This energetic part of the set is closed with “Impressive” by Tracker legends TbO & Vega.
Obviously bootlegs can be found as well on Soundcloud, one of which is Activa's rework on the Sasha & Emerson classic “Scorchio”. To be honest: I like this over the original Next up might sound a bit out of place, but the Editors' dreamy “Camera” works well in this set if it is remixed by Junkie XL! Equally out of place might be Capital Cities, but again a remix does the trick: it's “Safe And Sound” in the funky DiscoTech remix.
This episode of Selected ends gently. First with a nice vocal house track by Glenn Morrison and finally with the sublime ambient sound of StrangeZero. “Nanofly” is the title track of their new album which is available for free under a CreativeCommons license! If you are into downtempo and ambient music and like artists like Carbon Based Lifeforms, be sure to check this out!
Final note: all of the tracks were free downloads at this time I found them on Soundcloud. I've created a playlist, so if you are interested: have a look at https://soundcloud.com/digitalnativemusic/sets/fre... . Enjoy!
