It's predictable, when you're trying to quit, that you find yourself running up to new sensations, embracing them, looking for distractions to get you over the hump between when you used to care and now that you don't … Expect some tricky times, some ungovernable impulses, some mixed emotions … And because we mustn't forget that life can be so cruel, that Bliss tune hovers, incandescent, describing a world now juuuust out of reach … and then you remember just what it is, exactly, that you're trying to quit. And your heart breaks all over again.
So these are some darker tunes on average, referencing that shadowy corner where real feelings are kept … despite which, we start off with a track built around a joke: One Rubber (for those who missed it, the punch line provides the title of the show: "I'm trying to quit!"smile Somehow this little tune bootstraps itself into an aria: the magic of music on display … the Drake track shows what a guy can get up to when he's trying to quit.
Hosted a late lunch with some law alumni from Columbia University today, and this is the mix i chose. It was perfect atmosphere, it was so mellow, but yet still had that edge, reminded us we were in NY.. the comment at the top was so inspiring, true to the word... thank you MadameFLY tk 6 favorite
