An expertly crafted mix my man! I don't normally go in for the vocally type stuff so much but this set has a deep, dubby and melodic edge which pleases me greatly, track 9 in particular.
Had to restart my computer and it fixed the weird issue with not playing beyond 60 minutes (had that on all tracks on mix.dj not only for yours).
Track 11, I mean the Heather Johnson song is indeed very nice just like Guido P said it smile
I see now your concept, I actually suspected something similar since I listened to some of your previous ones in the series, more of a clubby, energetic style. Nothing wrong with mixing genres or styles...
Happy New Year to You too, vote goes now of cos... smile

Well damn, if that ain't all a mouthful! LOL. Thanks my friend. You know I always enjoy your critique, good or bad. Just some background on this series. House Grooves is a mixture of all types of house from soulful and deep to tek and electro. I like to have the ability to blend many styles hence the variety. I try to keep the flow and groove throughout. Sometimes it is more soulful and vocal and sometimes more instrumental and sometimes more on the dance/club side. The transition at 7:10-7:27 was a bit difficult for me. tried many variations and that was the best I was able to do with my limited skills. Track 2 is one of my favorites here. I love Maggie Smile. I just came across her wonderful voice this year and fell in love with it. I have featured a few of her vocals on previous mixes. I am sorry that you got cut off at 59 min cuz track 11 is pretty nice(LOL) pun intended! Hope your New years is awesome! And what, I don't get a vote on this? Cheers
Yeah, Track1 is a killer, gotta listen to more Digital Defect, it is really like Brand New Heavies, I mean the vocals are like N'Dea Davenport's voice (no one really liked the Siedah Garret years of BNH smile

Track2 is also mellow, very soulful, great diva voice there! Track3 is Duffnote, picked it in the tracklist upfront, Mr. Earnshaw never disappoints. Just read that his new album has Jocelyn Brown, Roy Ayers, Carleen Anderson on it - all respect, he's gonna go down in music history as another Bluey from Incognito (talking about Brand New Heavies) - I already saw comments comparing his work to the sound of Jamiroquai. One of the best and my own top fav funk-house producer now.
I was gonna say even at Track1 that you should have put this into the Soulful House category, after Track3 it definitely belongs there.
Track4 is interesting, white label, huh? Not that soulful, quite 90s piano-house samples and a bit of a trancey sound - and a bit like euro-mainstream for me - I was tad surprised of this selection from you smile Right on the edge for me, but it's personal taste... smile (I did play these kind of tracks back then though, reminds me of Jam&Spoon's "Right In The Night"
Track5 brings it back to a still 90s but more Chicago house sound and then Track6 is soulful again - interesting trip!
And then back to 90s Ibiza with BT smile Sorry, maybe I'm just not used to the sound, I guess it still goes down well in a club setting - quite a synth-pop mainstream sound just like Track8. Although the 7-8 transition is indeed brilliant and I like the initial bass of track8 - the piano for a moment however reminded me of Oran Juice Jones' "The Rain", first bar is the same melody smile
Kaskade is soulful again, very nice mellow track just like Guido P put it, he can also be a bit more hardcore, but not this one.
Track 10 is funny, I mean the arrangement with the guitar, bit bluesey, could pass as a soundtrack for a Robert Rodriguez movie without the beats (maybe because I just watched "Machete" lately..)
Something wrong with mix.dj or my computer, can't listen beyond 59 minutes...
Ah, one more piece of comment if you don't mind: your transition from 7:10 to 7:27 is not harmonic, not sure if it was intentional, sounds a bit eerie. I prefer blending the music like you do it instead of waiting for the drum-only outro to have a "clean" mix, but it's still good not to have clashing keys.
