lol first & foremost thanks for such a detailed comment and for pointing out that there is a soulful section here on mixdj...I thought it didnt exist. I'll move all my soulful mixes over to that genre as soon as they solve their upload issues. WOW, I am literally speechless cause when I share my mixes I always hope that someone will be touched somehow but I never thought that it would be to this magnitude. I honestly don't know what to say except thanks a lot track 11, you're really encouraging me to better myself everytime. God bless you for that. I also love the intro track, it drives me mad I tell you, I love it's uniqueness & richness of sound. I kinda have this theory of late, that one should go for a killer intro & outro and those 2 should be joined together by tracks that take the listener on a soothing journey into musical bliss. I aimed for that in "Jazzy Knights" and here as well. So I'm glad you liked the intro & outro tracks I take off my hat that you noticed that the last track doesnt quite fit into the whole mellow flow, I did that to lift the listener to another plane & sort of say "It's been nice travelling with you. Have a nice TRIP". The chorus of the last track is what got me too I guess the mixes overall sound quality is good cause over the years I have come to a place where I kinda have a hold on the secret to recording a good sounding mix. But on this one I feel that it wasnt as good as "Jazzy Knights", something went wrong somewhere. Anyway, uploading a 320 version of this mix mite prove difficult but as soon as I do, i'll let you know or I can write it to cd straight from the wav file & mail it to you. I only wish you guys didnt upload @ 320 cz it kinda isolates us africans, as I cant download your mixes that easily. I was recently surprised to learn that dimsa's mixes are @ 128...i'll definitely be downloading his mixes in the near future. I tried searching for steve k & Guido P but couldn't find their profiles but im really honoured that you've placed me amongst them as you definitely know your music & are not a chancer. How do I put you on my official fan list? And I wouldnt mind doing a collaboration, in fact I have been wishin that I can do one with someone. Just school me on how we'll do it since you're over there & im over here. Also thanks for pointing out that that instrument on track 3 & 4 is a vibraphone. I thought it was a xylophone or something. Now I can download the relevent soundfont for production purposes. Track 3 is my favourite track on the mix, so much so that I made it my ringtone. Track five is made by my most fav producer so far ANDY COMPTON, he runs & owns the Peng record label. I look up to him production wise. He's music is simply one of the best out there when it comes to jazzy house. And that track on youtube "Saulsalito Calling-Camelle Hinds " sounds like something andy would make; very soulful & mellow & infused with incrdeible musical depth. And about my transition @ 18:33, I bow once again that you observed it. Dude YOU KNOW YOUR MUSIC!!!! Im beside myself with awe. Once again you've managed to help me look for ways to improve myself. God bless U mate
I started shitting my pants when I heard your intro track! That slapping bass is just so tight! I mean I saw that it was Dubtribe remix, but it was still surprisingly good, even better than anticipated. Great nu-disco sound, absolute fantastic arrangement, very mellow at the same time.

There's not a lot to say otherwise, cos your sound is so good - I mean "In Time" - how frickin mellow that tune is, I'm speechless...
It was only Danny Clark that I recognized first from the tracklist but now I see there's an AtJazz remix and TriCircle Records and Tru Thoughts, quality labels. This will be pretty good, I can tell even before listening...
Your sound quality is awesome, I guess it's quality sources (maybe even WAV) and it's straight to 128kbps as it is streamed, surprisingly good sound. My 320kbps downloadable mixes get really crappy when converted to 128k streaming (we talked about this, I know you don't like the 320k downloads smile
I just listened to the whole set while doing housework. All I can say is: wow! I mean WOW! WOW! WOOOOW!
Or I should just rather say holy shit! Man, this is just so awesome, I honestly haven't heard such a great selection for a long time! The whole vibe very much reminds me of my own "Journey To The Sun" mix, so it was a double joy for me, I would have selected all these tracks myself, I could not argue with any single one of them, they are all brilliant! This is when I get my Beatport shopping list ready and put on some titles, artists and labels...
I don't want to analyze each individual track (although I'd love to) - it's really hard in this case. The vibraphone on Track 3 and 4 is just so cool, Track3 sound like a crossover between Roy Ayers and Modern Jazz Quartet for me with Milt Jackson - very jazzy tune. The bass in Track 5 is just so mellow, this reminded me of a track and I just don't know what that is. A similar acid jazz one that popped in my mind is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icHiN7RSdyg
Vocals are wonderful here. This whole set is just sooo fresh, superfresh! Since summer is here (hehe - I guess it's the same southern hemmisphere influence, can't imagine this set being born in winter time! it is just such a great match to the weather. I really want to listen to this a lot! (Maybe I could get a 320k version or lossless from you somehow smile
Your transition at 18:33 is a maseterpiece, two clashing keys in the two songs, there was no other way to mix them, this is a textbook cutover! I liked that you did not wait for a bridge with beats only, it just cuts over and changes the mood at the next bar, very nice!
You've got some serious latin and brazilian grooves running all the way through this set, very subtly most of the time, Track 9 is a good example. The whole mood reminds me of the "Bossa Tres Jazz" compilations, one of my favs, maybe even the previous song I had in mind was on that.
And then - the top! This last track, 10 is the real bomb, than you so much for this! It does fit into the same mellow/summery exciting feel but it's very unique, at least I just like it so much. To be honest it's really the chorus starting at 59:45 that gets me, just so smooth, it makes me want to fall in love in the summer breeze - great feeling!
Maestro! This is a masterpiece! I'm surprised it's just 60 minutes, it felt much longer when I listened, such a nice flow plus it really takes on a journey (to the sun smile and to another place and time.
Hats off mate, honestly I'm really impressed. It should probably be in the Soulful House genre not Deep House, of course it's deep but Soulful was created especially for tunes like this. I have to say that alogside with masters Steve K and Guido P, you have just entered my Fav Mix.DJ list, please put me on your official fan list! If you haven't heard Steve K, have a listen, his latest soulful set was the best so far for me, but I have to say (and it's not easy) that you have just topped it for me with this and you're No. 1!
Let me know if you're up for some collaboration mix in the future with this sound - I'd be really honored!
NICE WORK!! Love the soulful jazzy sound. Good flow and transitions. Loved it all but my favorites here are tracks 3,4,6,8-10-LOL-I guess that is most of the mix. Thanks for sharing!
