I hope that you enjoy this. Compiled during recent snowy weather when I found myself daydreaming and reminiscing the Summer days smile More of a typical 'loungey'/'Ibiza chillout feel I think. Ideal evening chill sounds was the aim, but not sleepy...for a beach session late night or something......think warm evenings relaxing with friends, cocktails and BBQ. Wish I was there!
so wonderfull again!!.........cannot say more because the others have already done. there's only one thing........would you marry me??? hahahahaaaaaa........ i'm kidding...greetz to england's "most sweet fruit"
The Queen Of Mellow defending her well deserved title for the third time in a row!
I am very much amazed with this set! Wanted to run it in the background but I was nailed to the couch listening right from the start. Amazin mood again, it's not mellow any more, it's the same honey-sweet, lullaby...

I am very much amazed with this set! Wanted to run it in the background but I was nailed to the couch listening right from the start. Amazin mood again, it's not mellow any more, it's the same honey-sweet, lullaby-dreamy feel that you had on Chill 2 but it's definitely taken to the next level here.
I'm not a big fan of ambient in general, but this style you have all the way is really "identical to none", you select the ambient groove tracks that I also very much favor. The drum is always key, even if it's subtle.
I am really wondering where you get all these tracks from since they all have a very similar arrangement, as if it was the same artist or label. I certainly have a few of these, very few - you seem to have the whole stash you can filter from. It's like opening a new world to me.
I actually know the answer - I don't like these arrangements usually since it's more electronic-artificial beats and not sampled RnB/funk classic breaks or some edgy drum programs trying to give back the same feeling. Same with the instruments, mostly synthetic versus I like the real natural sound. There are gazillions of lounge and chillout complilations out there piling up with bad music using the same patterns and cliches all the way through.
Now the thing is that you seemed to gone throug all and applied a strict filtering criteria, 'cause these are the cream of the genre, the very much enjoyable tracks. I reckon that is my issue with this - I know how much bad music I have to listen to come up with a few tracks making a set like this.
So all kudos (unless you have secret quality sources, labels etc smile as I know it's hard work.
Your mixing has a very nice flow, I haven't noticed transitions in the first 3 tracks (which is unusual for me, I have good ears). 3 to 4 might be a bit disharmonic for a few seconds or just breaking the mood but it blends in well then.
There's tremendous confidence showing here in your transitions (and I know you do it by ear). Eg. at 20:00 that is a textbook example how to cut over precisely, confidently for a mood switch - quick and painless, perfect execution, there was no other way to mix these two tracks, this is how it should be done.
Track 6 shows the complexity I was talking about above in your track selection: the melodies could be from any run-of-the-mill chill album, quite direct and mainstream most of the time (or it's just major keys that I don't like as they are too obvious?) - but then you have this really strong bassline, quite electro which gives an edge to the song, also the tabla-like percussion and the chinese sounding flutes - lots of influence. Track 7 is the same, melody is ambient and straight-in-the face but the bass is very funky and tight. That's what I call ambient groove - if that's a genre (it was a complilation series from Pork Records back then...)
This was well worth waiting for! Glad I made that comment in the forum about you not releasing lately smile
This goes on my phone for some more bedtime listening (will also test it this Saturday afternoon when I actually throw a barbie for friends - I just can't talk about what the weather is gonna be here to you.
PS: Track8 is serious - listening from the beginning again - what a journey! Like a fantasy...
Wonderful mix Lychee. Beautifully chilled tracks for anytime in my opinion. Nice work-good flow and transitions. There were quite a few new ones for me which was great to hear! Thanks for sharing!
