Hope you enjoy this third set in My lounge sessions series. Cheers smile
Thanks for all the constructive criticism.Much appreciated. That is how we all learn The echo was there but I elongated it to help with the transition. The mixing is done on sof
Great set Marc, I loved Club Des Belugas both at the start and at the end. The whole set has a definite Parisienne feel to it, great track selections!

Great set Marc, I loved Club Des Belugas both at the start and at the end. The whole set has a definite Parisienne feel to it, great track selections!
What I noticed however is that you're losing the count sometimes in musician terms - eg. at the transition between 4 and 5 the new track is early by a half note. If you count the beats, 1,2,3,4 then the downbeat for Track 5 will come in at 3 instead of 1. It is still on tempo, but it breaks the structure. BTW did you do the echo here for "day" or is it part of the song? It's a nice way to transition to keep it exhoing (and it's on the beat, it's just that 2 quarter shift smile
The other one is between 14 and 15. There is a long fade out so the beat is bearly audible from Track 14 at the end, but if you count it's definitely not on coming in on 1 for Track 15. First I thought you are slowing down and that is why it's not in sych but then I realized that it's the same tempo, you probably beatmatched it precisely, it's just that Track 15 has a different groove that makes it feel less busy and maybe slower. If you keep the count you could bring the tracks closer you did not need so long fades and the transitions would be more seamless.
Between 2 and 3 there is a bit of a disharmony, it's clashing keys, some might not notice it, some find it annoying. Not sure if you key your tracks, I also mix these clashing keys but try to transpose just the part in transitions into another harmonic key. Or another nice example is yours between 8 and 9 which I believe are clashing keys but you do a nice cutover, very professional, keeping the momentum, changing keys without clashing - that was my favorite one!
Great vibe all together - hope you don't mind the constructive feedback! Is this a live mix with turntables/CD players BTW or a software one? Does make a huge difference...
I love lounge that doesnt get swamped by too much electronica.....something that still has a live intrument feel in it...and this is it...lovely...thanks.
