Session One
Picks you up, throws you about a bit, then drops you down gently.
Great intro track, heavy fat progressive bass and uplifting tension, predictable since this is now your trademark!!! LOL LOL Hazardous but pleasant fading on vocals, nice harmony with previous track and great energy spreading!!! Not a fan of the original track, but this bootleg is sick!!!Transition 2...
Great intro track, heavy fat progressive bass and uplifting tension, predictable since this is now your trademark!!! LOL LOL Hazardous but pleasant fading on vocals, nice harmony with previous track and great energy spreading!!! Not a fan of the original track, but this bootleg is sick!!!Transition 2 to 3 is great, uplifting and breathless as I like it!!! Absolutely great...and this track, with its epic synth so pushing upwards, is out of the world!!! I'm totally into it, fantastic Barry!!! Bam, track 4 comes up, with an elegant touch of minimal techno, still great energy flowing......with track 5 we are into more "classical" uplifting trance, again a great energetic fading 4 to 5. Chapeau. With track 7 the big beat comes back again....dark and a bit disquieting pause....and the epic synth starts again....uhm... perhaps too uplifting for my ears, the strings cover the bass almost entirely...need to think about it!!! Same for track 8, undecided. Track 9 is back in my direction, love the vocal fragments on the background. Know what? Perhaps what I like in rhythm as a dancer is some sort of circularity, like in this case, the refrain needs to come back to the starting point after a few phrases, making the sound hypnotic....if it is too much uplifting tends to be distracting...just an attempt to rationality, sorry for the digression!!! LOL Definitively this track is killer!!!! 10 too!!! 11 classic van Dyk sound, always so fresh and lively...bravo Baz, the set's ending sequence is magic. Great study topic, Baz, will listen more and more....and quality fuel for my Ipod!! Huge respect to one of the greatest trance masters.
