About Me
I'm Charlie Young. I was born outside of Boston but my parents were diplomats so I grew up abroad. I attended McGill University 2002-2007 where I majored in Humanistic Studies and Education. While studying in Montreal, I became involved with the dnb and rave scenes. I am currently waiting for my work visa for Quebec as I am not Canadian, and spend most of my time brushing up on my Dj skills, planing my return to school, and throwing parties, the most recent of which featured the awesome likes of Ed Rush.
I got my first turntables in the beginning of 2004 and played my first gig roughly a year later. I am part of a three man dj crew called Twisted Bass.
My style of dnb mixing runs the gamut from chill, trancey, groovy, to dirty, crunchy, explosive. Sorry, no ragga.
In addition to drum and bass, I also mix breaks (funky and electro breaks), freeform, and hardtek as well as mashup sets. I am also honing the turntablist skills, but my articulation demands improvement.
