House, Techno and all in between are some of the sounds of the musical aesthetics that you will listen in one of the most interesting and sincerely passionate dance sessions of the Central America underground scene. In more than 10 years, Esteban Howell has shared decks with John Digweed, Nic Fanciulli, Jim Rivers, UNKLE's James Lavelle, Dubfire, Danny Howells, Sander Kleinenberg, Desyn Masiello, Luke Fair, Hernan Cattaneo, Junkie XL, James Zabiela, Nick Warren, Steve Lawler, Way Out West, Mauro Picotto, Behrouz, Paul Woolford, Smokin Jo, Felix Da Housecat, DJ Preach, Saeed Younan, Sultan, Oliver Moldan, Alex Niggemann, Steve Aoki, Fatboy Slim, Chymera and Valentino Kanzyani, among other talents.
Back in 2000, influenced by new age, world beat and dance tunes sounds from late 70's and early 90´s, along with his studies in piano and keyboards since childhood, Esteban Howell was stroked by the underground dance music scene.
In 2002, he started the Spyral & Howell duo. On his own, he played at Costa Rica's Club Vertigo´s Official Grand Opening as well as Yoshitoshi´s "In House We Trust 3" World Tour event, opening for Desyn Masiello and Luke Fair. At the same time, as a resident of local promoter group Promotion Bookings, he warmed up play for John Digweed and James Lavelle (UNKLE). It wasn´t until late 2004 that he joined forces with Club Vertigo and became one of its most charismatic resident DJs.
His passionate sessions are well known in Central America. He has been invited by DJ friends such as Casta, Francis Davila and Saga Crew to play in Guatemala, Tom Sawyer in Panama, Tini Tun in Mexico and Magma in Nicaragua.
In 2008, Esteban started the first Costarican regular DJ learning center called Laboratorio de DJs, supported by local music academy Editus, along with outstanding collaborators such as producer/performer Ernesto Bolaños (Huba&Silica), Nico Guevara (Eleventy Studio), Felipe Loáiciga (Selianego/Organism's Sound Design), among other talents.
