Super DJ Taylor Clark started spinning at the tender age of seven years old. He learned his craft from his uncle who was in a DJ crew with the Legendary Grand Wizard Theodore, the inventor of the scratching technique. From there he went on to work very closely with another uncle who was leader of the 70s funk band, Magnum Force. As he honed not only his turntable skills but also his production proficiency he quickly garnered a reputation as “Youngest In Chargeâ€. While playing a private party in New York City in 1980 he caught the attention of NYC and Miami nightlife icon Gilbert Stafford and entertainer Nell Carter. They introduced him to the New York Metropolis as “The Next Big Thingâ€. In the 1980s he played venues such as Studio 54, Nell’s The Limelight’s Disco 2000, Tunnel, The Palladium, Club Zanzibar and Club USA while traveling to destinations like Puerto Rico, The Dominican Republic, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Canada and across the United States. After long residences at Philadelphia’s Club Adonis and The Second Story he relocated to Chicago to open his first nightclubs, UNION, TOUGH CLUB and THE BLUE ROOM. In Chicago he played shoulder to shoulder with the originators of House Music including Jesse Saunders, Marshall Jefferson, DJ Pierre, Farley “Jackmaster†Funk, Chip E and others. There, he took part in the birth of the global phenomenon we call HOUSE MUSIC. After an all consuming fire at his loft space caused the loss of all his gear and over twenty thousand pieces of vinyl he walked away from it all only to re-emerge in 2009 as a legendary O.G. of HOUSE MUSIC!
