About Me
Born May 19th 1985 at Cascais (Lisbon, Portugal), this young DJ/Producer was named Rogerio de Azevedo, just like his grandfather.
Electronic music came into Roger’s life very soon. With only 10 years old he started listening to his elder brother’s Acid House mix tapes of Lisbon’s underground club «Clymacz».Right at that moment he became attracted to Electronic Music.
His main influences came later while living in Belgium (Antwerp/Anverse) when he was involved by the local Techno scene. He now recognizes that most of his Electronic Music roots came from this country. Essential to his musical education were Detroit's Minimal Techno, Swedish Drumtracks, and Belgian anthemic bassline tracks. As a result, he buys his first Techno record with his pocket money at the age of 12, and never stopped since.
Returning back to Portugal made him expand his music knowledge. Roger discovered other Electronic Music genres and started Djing with 16 years old at small clubs and parties in the suburbs of Lisbon. Subsequently, invitations popped to perform in other locations. While playing regularly, he started learning studio dexterity with the talented MC/Producer Freakshow (vocalist at that time of «The Bellagios», triumphant British band of Glastonbury Music Festival 2005).
As a DJ, Roger is known to be irreverent. He reaches leading moments on his sets using FX's, spinning three decks, sampling, etc. Eclectically he plays, in small and big clubs and events, a little bit of Techno, House and Electro and so on, seeing genres and styles not as diminutive tags.
