orteM has been born in Kaunas, Lithuania. DJ's career, starting in 2009. A cheerful guy, Linas, with the challenge's-worth-a-smile-or-two attitude has been inspired by an influential Lithuanian DJ to stop playing endless lists of house music in between the 4 walls of his room, and start his own DJ career. If we ask orteM to name one prominent figure from the electronic-music world that makes much influence on him, that would probably be Hernan Cattaneo. Before listening to orteM's sets, one should expect for progressive house, tech house, and deep house sound stylistics.
DJ orteM participated in several national rookie DJ championships, and never got lower than top-5. "Titles are something we should always appreciate, but the first thing is to work hard on the progress, and championships for me is a phenomenon that pushes me to do my best, not to win them by any cost. Because what happens with the winners, is that they tend to relax at least for a couple days after the victory.
And not winning the 1st place makes me sit with my records right after the night is over, and spin my brain, thinking, how can I get better. Maybe, after all, it's not a bad thing," says orteM, smiling.
