When it's blazing hot all day, who could blame you for looking forward to the night: The end of the glare, the end of frantic activity -- making money or making an impression, depending on your personal style -- in short, the end of obligations to others and the beginning of your free time. Guard it jealously, or share it with a select few, but make the most of this precious resource. This is when you recharge.
Bringing your nightsong this time are Tosca, Bonobo, Michael e, Lenny Ibizarre, Nena, and other experts in the art of musical repair for your mind, body and soul.

The right to petition government for redress of grievances is the right to make a complaint to, or seek the assistance of, one's government, without fear of punishment or reprisals. In the United States, the right to petition is guaranteed by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, which specifically prohibits Congress from abridging "the right of the people...to petition the Government for a redress of grievances".
As this particular July 4th rolls around it seems especially appropriate to keep those rights in mind while spending your holiday (if it *is* a holiday for you) in safe and happy celebration; trust in JAH and keep your powder dry. Old friends and new talent keeping you company include Thievery Corp., Bill Laswell, Noiseshaper, Martha Velez, several from the Dubmatix group of artists including the Resonators and AMJ Meets RSD, plus Zephaniah from the Handsworth Explosion collection, courtesy of Sugar Shack Records.

So you may ask yourself, why can't we all just relax, why can't we be our best selves more often, why can't we live together in peace? Well. The answers (depending on who you ask) are various and complex, but virtually everyone will end up telling you That's Just The Way It Is. They may point to 'human nature' or they may blame capitalism or any of the other isms that drive politics and the economy all over the world ... I doubt you will find the kind of agreement about causes that would leave you feeling convinced.
Here's my suggestion: turn away from trying to understand the "we" question, and just focus on the one thing you can actually influence: yourself. Why can't I relax? Why can't I be my best self more often? Why can't I live together with other people in peace and understanding?
Lighting the way: Alex Cortiz, Blackfish, Deep Dive Corp., Kaya Project, and more.
Thx, man! It's always good to see your comments ... hope all is well with you and the family!

Winter being pretty much over in most places, this seems like an opportunity to remind you of good times right around the corner... In fact, that reminder might be even more important in places where the last of winter weather is still clinging. Take heart: spring is settling in and the warmth is making promises you'll soon benefit from, promises about sandals, shorts and swimsuits.
My suggestion would be that you mix yourself a tropical cocktail, sit in a sunbeam, pop in your earbuds, and give your mind a mini-vacation.
This tropical chill jam features music from Bonobo's newest release along with tracks from Afterlife, Timewarp inc, Tycho & Rob Garza of Thievery Corp, and more

Like the pivot point in a complex mix set, we've collectively changed direction just a notch and that's enough for me to cheer up for a moment, so I'm here with some music from the past couple of years that should put a bit of spring in your step. Spend an hour with me with a smile on your face and the belief in your heart that – whether we are talking about romance, politics, our personal finances or our Weight Watchers check-in, it doesn't all have to end in tears. It still may -- of course! But it doesn't HAVE to, and that's the light we're heading toward atm ... If you need your spirits lifted, come along with me.
Performances this time from Parra for Cuva, Junge Junge, Felix Jaehn, Sam Feldt, New Order, Blank and Jones, Afterlife, and more.

There's hints of spring in the air, and possibly not only in the semi-tropics where I live ... I hear they had a little spring up in NYC until it got crowded-out with a new snow storm... If you can't depend on the weather, then you'll have to let the music warm you up.
Late 2016 brought plenty of new roots music, including offerings from Vibronics / Conscious Sounds, Morgan Heritage, AMJ Meets RSD, Jim the Boss, The Hempolics, and the Zion Train remix album Versions -- big up to the Dubmatix crew for keeping me connected! I also checked the crate, so you'll hear UB40, Thievery Corporation, Djosos Krost, Dubblestandart, Resonators & My Neighbor Is.
Light it up and stay warm!

Well. There's no doubt that all the doubt and worry will catch up with you at some point, that you'll be a little overwhelmed, or perhaps deeply concerned, or outright fried. No direction home, as Bob said ... and at times like that you'll take a ticket to anywhere.
But look here, I've got a ticket to someplace relatively sane, interesting for all the RIGHT reasons, rather than those that leave you torn between horror and laughter ... someplace calming and spirit-lightening. It's a ticket to just drop in, stay an hour, feel better, and then go get back to whatever you were trying to do when you got distracted.
Along for the ride: Gelka, Hefner, Gary B, Aromabar, Bon Iver, Jan Garbarek, and more -- including another new track from Internaleye. Come back refreshed!
