All Things Must Pass (1971)
In September 1969 feelings were running high, and in an effort to keep everybody happy some drastic decisions were made. Producer Allen Klein was fired, Yoko Ono was removed from recording sessions, and it was agreed that George Harrison would have more songwriting opportunities. Furthermore, it was agreed that The Beatles would not tour anymore. After the huge success of Let It Be in May 1970, the band returned to Abbey Road to work on what would become their 13th studio album, All Things Must Pass. The album was released in January of 1971, and featured 3 hit singles, which topped the charts in both the UK and the U.S. - My Sweet Lord, Instant Karma and Give Peace a Chance. Musically, Harrison was at the peak of his creativity, and All Things Must Pass featured many of his songs. John wrote whilst receiving primal scream therapy with Doctor Janov, and Paul found inspiration whilst staying at his family farm in Scotland. Ringo meanwhile, took the time to record a solo blues album. SIDE A 1. Mother (Lennon 1970) 2. Come and get it (McCartney 1969) 3. My sweet lord (Harrison 1970) 4.
